Jeff S. Long grew up on a dairy farm in Sinking Valley, Pennsylvania. He started his construction business in 1980 by building residential homes. After almost 20 years in the business, he expanded, building 3 personal care homes, now known as Colonial Courtyard, and then branched into independent living apartment complexes. After building 7 Graystone Court properties, Jeff changed course with the creation of Graystone Court Villas. These high-rise complexes not only offered larger apartments but also additional amenities such as game rooms, fitness centers, restaurants, salons, indoor swimming pools and semi-private parking garages. There are currently 6 Graystone Court Villa properties. Graystone spans across Blair, Cambria, Huntingdon, Jefferson, Centre, and Clearfield counties.

Jeff and Vikki Long purchased LaScalia’s Restaurant, formerly of Tyrone and built a new location inside Graystone Altoona. Now known as The Villa Restaurant, it continues to serve quality home cooked meals, steaks and seafood along with daily specials and homemade soups and desserts. The Villa Restaurant also offers a banquet facility which seats up to 35.

In 2020, Jeff transformed Graystone once again with the purchase of the former Bon Secours Hospital in Altoona, Pennsylvania. The most elaborate property to date, Graystone Grande Palazzo offers a multitude of apartment layouts, including exclusive penthouses on the top floor. The first floor is home to the Palazzo Shoppes. Residents and the public can relax and enjoy the Colosseum Salon and Spa, Stone Cellar Restaurant, Humble & Kind Boutique, Palazzo Purse Shoppe, Green Bean Coffee, Dr. Marquez dentistry, Beltone Hearing, and Evolution Physical Therapy. A continuum of care is provided on the 2nd floor by Graystone Manor. One of three locations, Graystone Manor Altoona offers home like suites that allow residents to find the balance of independence, services that fit their lifestyle, and high quality personal care. Jeff also owns and operates Graystone Manor personal care homes in Bellmeade and Huntingdon.

Jeff Long isn’t done yet! He is proud to announce Phase III coming to the Grande Palazzo. Casa Bella will add 195 luxurious units and a 220 car indoor parking garage. These 1 & 2 bedroom, 1 ½ bath apartments will range from 700 to 1800 square feet. Unique to Casa Bella is our indoor/outdoor rooftop lounge area. Pickleball and the half-court basketball court are among a couple ways residents can stay active and fit. The enclosed skywalk connecting Casa Bella to the Grande Palazzo affords residents easy access to the theatre room, chapel and Shoppes.

Jeff and his wife Vikki have two daughters, Emily and Amy. Jeff is currently under construction on a cottage style housing development off Spruce Creek Road in Huntingdon County. Graystone Cottage Community includes 81 cottage homes along with common grounds and clubhouse. Jeff’s vision has truly revolutionized retirement living.
Future plans include a Graystone in Philipsburg. We are excited to see Graystone continue to grow and serve our wonderful communities.
